China Eastern Airlines has applied to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) for traffic rights to operate thrice-weekly Shanghai Pudong-Xian-Prague and Xian-Irkutsk services, starting in July.
Its subsidiary Shanghai Airlines also sought to operate a twice-weekly Wenzhou-Vladivostok with Boeing 737-800s from June.
At the same time, Air China has applied for rights to operate a thrice-weekly Beijing-Brisbane service with A330s. It plans to launch this service as early as October.
The CAAC calls on parties with comments to submit them to the regulator by 9 May.
FlightGlobal schedules data shows China Eastern will be the only operator on Xian-Prague and Xian-Irkutsk routes. Air China will also be the only carrier on the Beijing-Brisbane route.
