China's civil aviation authorities have awarded Smiths Detection a £5.6 million contract for 120 Smiths Heimann x-ray systems to inspect passenger baggage and freight. Smiths says the contract involves the supply of the Hi-Scan 6040 and Hi-Scan 145180 machines as well as ScanVans and ScanTrailers, which are mobile units designed for use at ports, airports and border crossings.
