China's AVIC II has signed a deal with Rolls-Royce to develop
a twin-engined version of its Z-11 helicopter powered by the Model 250 engine. The 2t class helicopter is currently powered by a single, locally built, WZ-8D engine. Entry into service is expected by early 2005.
