Mexican airline holding company Cintra last week accepted an offer from Mexican hotel chain operator Grupo Posadas for Mexicana, but has rejected bids for Aeromexico for undervaluing the carrier. The sale of 100% of Mexicana to Grupo Posadas is valued at $1.46 billion – covering a sale price of $165.6 million, the assumption of $294 million in liabilities and $997 million in fleet costs. Cintra says it will now work on selling Aeromexico in the “short term”.
