The three occupants of a Cirrus SR22 piston single survived uninjured because the pilot activated the airframe parachute system when the light aircraft stalled and entered a spin after inadvertently encountering icing. The aircraft involved in the 13 January accident, near Childersburg in Alabama, was not equipped for flight into known icing.
