The CityFlyer Express has become the first British Airways franchise partner to fly BA's new UK Union Flag logo on its tail.

The markings are on the London Gatwick-based carrier's sixth and latest arrival - a British Aerospace Avro RJ100 - which begins flying to Europe in July.

The logo is based on the original flag which was used by Admiral Nelson in the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805.

It is already the mark of BA's Concorde fleet and the airline has announced that it will use the design on up to 160 other aircraft.

CityFlyer managing director Brad Burgess says: "We are delighted to be the first franchise to carry the Union Flag." A seventh RJ100 will be added to the CityFlyer fleet in August bringing the total to 18.
