KLM Cityhopper will be replacing its four aging Fokker F28-4000 Fellowships with an equal number of new Fokker 70s from January 1996. A special-purpose company, to be owned by an independent foundation, will be set up to lease the 80-seat aircraft to Cityhopper for an initial period of three years. With the replacement of the F28s, the entire KLM/KLM Cityhopper fleet will comply with Stage 3 noise requirements.
