Tekever is to broaden its activities in the Middle East region, with a new office due to be opened in Dubai within the next few months.
Announcing the development while exhibiting at the Dubai air show, the unmanned air system manufacturer said the step “will support the development of new relationships with local partners, and help create the conditions for effective technology transfer”.
The Portuguese-based company’s UK unit outlined a goal of finding a local production and support partner here two years ago. It says there is “increasing demand from this part of the globe, mainly regarding border protection and maritime surveillance missions”.
“The Middle East offers a wide array of operational and logistics challenges, but we intend to take the opportunity to enhance our production capabilities and lower our delivery time, moving us to the front of the queue for short timescale orders,” says business development director Robert Whitehouse.
Tekever also has a presence in Brazil, China and the USA.
