Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has confirmed that it is evaluating the development of jet-powered unmanned air systems (UAS).

"We evaluate jet-powered UAS, but we think that the world is not yet ready for them," said Tommy Silberring, general manager of IAI's Malat division.

His comment comes as the first official hint that Israel's largest UAS developer is considering the development.

Israel has so far not indicated that it is developing armed UAS', but Palestinian sources in the Gaza strip have claimed for years that some of the precision attacks launched against targets in the area were performed by Israeli unmanned air vehicles.
