New start-up airline Club Air is putting its operating package together to begin services between Italy and Romania in late October. As part of this, the carrier's chairman Bruno Tercatin signed a three-year deal with Commercial Aerospace Services (CASCO) at the show to support all rotable repairs and logistics for its first two British Aerospace 146-200s. Club Air will use the airworthiness operating certificate of affiliate SixCargo Airlines to operate the charter flights and has been formed by Italian tour operator Valsole Viaggi e Turismo. It will take over services currently operated by Romanian flag carrier Tarom with ATR-42s or Boeing 737s on behalf of Valsole. Club Air will operate the aircraft in a two-class configuration, says Tercatin, and will consider upping its scheduled services from 18 a week later.
