Operators interested in fitting the PilotView electronic flight bag (EFB) from CMC Electronics (booth 1014) now have a choice of eight European dealers to go to for installations.
In the past year the list of qualified installers has grown to include Avionicare in the UK, DFS and EISA (France), Jet Aviation Basel and Sun Aircraft Services (Switzerland), Lufthansa Technik and Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services (Germany) and Menekse Aviation (Turkey). CMC’s two European offices, in Toulouse and Yeovil in the UK, provide additional local support.
Several business aircraft, including a Dassault Falcon 900 and a Bombardier Global Express, have been fitted with PilotView. Installations range in complexity from one designed for the simple viewing of aeronautical charts to full integration with a cabin network supporting air-ground communications via satellite.
CMC says that a North American Global Express operator is using PilotView to support full paperless cockpit operations. Installed by ABC Completions of Montreal, the EFB is located in a custom-made telescopic articulated mount designed to yield comfortable viewing and usage while avoiding the possibility of interference with other cockpit systems.
With a high-definition 8.4in (210mm) LCD display offering good readability in all cockpit light conditions, PilotView can host aircraft documentation, checklists, flight-planning information, en route and approach charts, a moving-map display, enhanced vision system imagery and real-time weather graphics.
