Colombia last week became the first export customer for Embraer’s EMB-314 Super Tucano, signing a long-awaited $235 million production order for 25 aircraft. A full-flight simulator is also included in the deal, along with training services to be supplied using some Super Tucanos from the Brazilian air force’s inventory, which will eventually total 99 A/AT-29 versions of the aircraft.
The Colombian air force’s first five production EMB-314s will be delivered in November 2006, with further batches of 10 each to arrive in 2007 and 2008, respectively.
