Comac has inked a project specific certification plan (PSCP) with Shanghai Aircraft Airworthiness Certification Centre, taking the development of its C919 commercial jet a step further.
The PSCP details procedures and a schedule to ensure that work is carried out efficiently between Comac and the Civil Aviation Administration of China to expedite the certification of the aircraft.
Work will be carried out according to rules and guidelines listed in the PSCP to complete the necessary type design, manufacturing work and to ensure that related compliance documents are reviewed and approved to ensure a smooth validation process, says Comac.
The C919 programme is now in the engineering development phase. Detailed design work is being carried out, with step-by-step manufacturing drawings to be released and trial manufacturing yet to be conducted.
The aircraft is scheduled to make its first flight in 2014 followed by a first delivery in 2016.
