Fairchild Dornier is in advanced negotiations with US regional airline Comair for a large launch order for its 428JET, according to this week's Flight International.
The Cincinnati-based Delta Connection carrier is negotiating for up to 40 of the 42/44-seat aircraft. The 428JET is a stretched version of the 328JET that is making its debut at Farnborough. Industry sources say that Fairchild Dornier is hoping to be able to confirm the deal before the end of the show.
Certification and first deliveries of the 428JET are expected in the first half of 2001.
