The US Army has started equipping its Sikorsky UH-60M Black Hawk utility helicopters with a folding composite stabilator designed and manufactured by Israel Aircraft Industries’ Ramta division. The new tail weighs 6.8kg (15lb) less than the aircraft’s original metal component and has 60% fewer parts.
