Lockheed Martin UK has revealed a series of concepts for the UK Royal Navy AgustaWestland Merlin HM1 capability sustainment programme (CSP). The Merlin prime contractor received an £18 million ($29 million) contract earlier this year to study potential CSP developments such as sponson mounted defensive aids and a nose mounted electro-optical sensors. CSP is intended to provide an open architecture backbone for future upgrades.
