I read with interest your interviews with the eight individuals who played a key role in the introduction into service of Concorde (Flight International, 21-27 October).

There is no disputing how important these people were in achieving the monumental task of bringing such a project to fruition, but once the aircraft was in service it became the responsibility of a different breed: those responsible for operating it daily - maintenance engineers, flight operations personnel, cabin crew, ground handlers, and so on. It is a shame that I did not read any praise of these essential people.
