Rolls-Royce/SAIC joint venture Data Systems &Solutions is to supply JetScan hardware and support for engine condition monitoring on US Air Force General Electric F110-powered Lockheed Martin F-16s. JetScan is a mobile scanning electron microscope used for determining engine wear. Meggitt Avionics is to supply flight and engine monitoring displays for the Pilatus PC-21 trainer. The 75mm flat-panel displays are based on Meggitt's secondary flight display system. Boeing has been awarded a $146 million firm fixed price/cost plus fixed fee USAF contract to upgrade 36 APG-63 (V) radar systems equipping F-15 fighters. Raytheon will do much of the work. The UK Ministry of Defence has awarded Thales Air Defence (formerly Shorts Missile Systems) a £66 million ($93 million) contract to supply a Successor Identification Friend or Foe system for the British Army's Hyper Velocity Missile (Starstreak). Elisra Electronic Systems has won a Canadian Forces C$25 million ($16.4million) order to upgrade the electronic warfare systems of Bell CH-146 (412EP) helicopters.
