L-3 Communications subsidiary Link Simulation and Training has been award a contract worth $67 million if all 10 one-year options are exercised to provide training, support and management for the US Air Force's Lockheed Martin C-141 Total Training System. The Greek air force has awarded Link a $12.5 million contract to build an aircrew training device (ATD) for the Lockheed Martin F-16 Block 52-Plus fighter. Italy's Alenia Difesa has been selected by Alliant Techsystems to provide the Common Munitions BIT/Reprogramming Equipment (CMBRE)to support the Italian air force's Paveway III laser guided bomb kits and JDAM systems. Hindustan Aeronautics is to upgrade Indian air force air combat simulators for Mikoyan MiG-27Floggers and SepecatJaguars. HELISIM has won a contract to provide the Royal Netherlands Air Force with Eurocopter AS332/532 Cougar simulator training. HELISIM- a joint venture between Eurocopter (45%), Thales Training and Simulation (45%) and Defence Conseil International (10%) - will provide between 8,250h and 11,500h training a year for 15 years from February 2003. Computer Sciences (CSC)has won a $145.8 million, five-year, contract from the US Army Aviation and Missile Command to support simulation and development of missile and aviation systems at the Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. Sensytech has received a $2.5 million contract from Amazon Technologies to provide an airborne hyperspectral imaging system to support the Brazilian Sivam Amazon surveillance system. Titan Systems will provide avionics integration services, including support of executive-transport and other special- mission helicopters, under a US Navy contract potentially worth $39 million over five years. Harris is to continue modernisation of the US Air Force's Miniature Multiple Threat Emitter System electronic-warfare simulators under contracts worth $10million.
