Lockheed Martin has received an $8.2 million contract to incorporate a fibre-optic high-speed databus into F-16 Block 50-Pluses being supplied to Israel under the Peace Marble V programme, to record quick-reaction capability data from the Northrop Grumman APG-68(V)9 radar in the core avionics. All Peace Marble V aircraft will be provisioned and five will receive the full capability. Environment Tectonics will supply a GAT-II general-aviation simulator to the US Air Force Academy to support training on the Cessna 172, Raytheon T-6ATexan II and a generic light utility helicopter. Teledyne Controls' optical quick-access recorder is to be installed in US Air Force Boeing C-17s under a contract potentially worth $3.5 million. BVR Systems, with Israel Aircraft Industries' MLM division, will supply EHUD rangeless air-combat manoeuvring instrumentation (ACMI) systems to the Israeli air force under a $2.4 million contract which includes airborne pods and upgraded debriefing stations. The Israelis have been leasing the EHUD ACMI system since mid-2000. Hungary has signed a 5 billion forint ($88 million) contract with RSK MiG to extend the service life of 14 of its 27 MiG-29s to 2005, by which time 14 leased Gripens are expected to be delivered. Work has begun at Kecskemet AB, with redeliveries to begin in October next year. Boeing has received a contract worth $98 million for 13 Radar System Improvement Programme (RSIP) kits to complete the upgrade of the US Air Force's E-3 Airborne Warning and Control System fleet. Raytheon has received a $19.8 million contract to build the third and fourth mobile, reconfigurable simulator suite under the US Army's Aviation Combined Arms Tactical Trainer - Aviation (AVCATT-A). AAI has received a $4.6 million contract from Eurofighter for eight Advanced Boresight Equipment systems to align the weapons and sensors on operational Eurofighter Typhoons.
