■ The US Air Force has awarded Boeing a $9.5 million contract to integrate and test a focused lethality munition warhead with its Small Diameter Bomb Increment 1 weapon by September 2007. Intended to reduce collateral damage, the design will integrate a blast explosive warhead within a composite case.
■ Goodrich is to provide continued landing gear maintenance services to the US Air Force's fleet of C-17 strategic transports under a three-year deal with Boeing. The work could be worth up to $38 million.
■ Saab Avitronics has received a £7 million ($13.3 million) contract from Lockheed Martin UK to provide mass data storage and recording devices for the UK Royal Navy's Merlin HM1 (AgustaWestland EH101) multi-mission helicopters.
■ Rolls-Royce has been awarded a £40 million ($76.1 million), two-year contract to support and overhaul the Gem engines which power Westland Lynx utility helicopters in service with the UK Ministry of Defence. The deal is the precursor to R-R's anticipated receipt in 2008 of a full availability-based contract to support for the engines.
■ Aydin Displays is to produce flat-panel displays for the tactical consoles aboard seven prototype Boeing P-8A multi-mission maritime aircraft under a $2.6 million subcontract from BAE Systems. Follow-on orders could cover the supply of an estimated 1,300 displays for the US Navy's 108 production aircraft.
■ The UK Ministry of Defence has awarded Qinetiq a £1.4 million ($2.6 million) contract to develop and test a target generation simulator for its advanced radar technology integrated system testbed demonstration effort. Roke Manor Research will also participate in the trials.
■ RADA Electronic Industries has received an initial $330,000 contract to replace the head-up display cameras used by part of the Israeli air force's fleet of Boeing F-15 strike aircraft by mid-2007.
