Canadian Marconi has won a C$4.9 million ($3.4 million) contract from Eurocopter Germany to supply CMA-806A Doppler navigation systems for retrofit to German navy GKN Westland Sea King Mk41 helicopters. Deliveries are due to start in mid-year. The Spanish army has awarded Boeing a contract to upgrade five CH-47C Chinooks to CH-47D standard. Taiwan has ordered nine Boeing CH-47SD Chinooks for delivery from 2001. The deal is valued at $300 million. Taiwan has also concluded a $105 million deal for two Northrop Grumman E-2T Hawkeyes. The US Army Aviation and Missile Command has awarded Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control three contracts worth more than $143 million for the Patriot Advanced Capability (PAC-3) missile. This includes a $48 million low rate initial production (LRIP) contract for 20 PAC-3 missiles. The Egyptian air force has ordered 39 ALQ-131 electronic countermeasures Block II upgrade kits from Northrop Grumman. The Canadian Forces have awarded Computing Devices Canada a contract worth around C$40 million for the design, integration and supply of deployable air traffic control and communications systems (ACCS). As part of the Canadian Forces ACCS deal, ITT Gilfillan has received a contract from Computing Devices Canada to supply three mobile GCA-2000 radars, the first within 16 months, to provide a deployable precision approach capability. Northrop Grumman has been awarded a $13.6 million contract for 32 BQM-34 Firebee subscale aerial targets. Rockwell Collins is to supply GNLU-945 multimode receivers (MMRs) to equip 126 US Air Force Lockheed C-5B transports, beginning in 2002. Each C-5 will be equipped with two MMRs, which will house VOR, instrument landing system and microwave landing system receivers. Cobham subsidiary Chelton is to supply radomes for US Army Boeing AH-64DApache Longbows.
