Rohde &Schwarz has won a DM18.5 million ($9.15 million) contract to supply NATO-compatible radios to Saab for Batch 3 JAS39 Gripen fighters. An option is included to retrofit earlier aircraft. Denel of South Africa has signed a deal to become a strategic partner to BAE Systems following the agreement to supply Hawk trainers and Gripen fighters to the South African Air Force. The first contracts involve design and production of stores pylons for Gripen and components for the Avro regional jets. Mercury Computer Systems is to supply RACE real-time signal processing systems to Ericsson Microwave Systems for four Embraer RJ-145-based airborne early warning aircraft ordered by the Greek air force.
