Denmark has placed a DKr200 million ($25.5 million) order to upgrade HeliTOW sights from Saab Dynamics, for use on army Aerospatiale Fennec helicopters. Raytheon and UPS Logistics Group have received a $97 million US Navy contract for direct vendor delivery of spares for the Phalanx close-in weapon system. Raytheon will perform all inventory management, including buying, repairing and stocking spares, which will be distributed by UPS. BAE Systems has signed a R500 million ($75.7 million) deal with South Africa's Advanced Technologies and Engineering to design, develop and manufacture navigation and weapons systems for 24 BAE Hawks ordered by the South African Air Force. Honeywell's Sensors and Guidance Products unit has won a Boeing contract for more than 8,000 HG1700 inertial measurement units (IMU) for use in the Joint Direct Attack Munition. FLIR Systems has won contracts totalling $8 million for SAFIRE thermal imagers. Six systems will be installed on US Army Sikorsky UH-60Q medevac helicopters, while the US Marine Corps has ordered Star SAFIRE upgrades for Bell UH-1Ns. L-3 Communications has received a $8.5 million US Navy contract to supply liquid-crystal displays to replace electromechanical flight instruments in Lockheed S-3B Vikings. Four 140mm (5.5in) displays will be installed in the cockpit. Under a $4.2 million US Air Force/Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency contract, Lockheed Martin Sanders is developing an adaptive scan scheduler for electronic warfare systems that can automatically change the sensor dwell and revisit times depending on the threat environment, to increase the chances of identification and survival. Northrop Grumman's California Microwave Systems business has won a $33 million contract to modify 15 US Coast Guard Dassault HU-25A/C Falcons. A $58 million option covers a further 15 aircraft.
