Ericsson Saab Avionics has received a $28 million order to supply servo actuators for 64 Saab JAS39 Gripen fighters. Deliveries start in 2004. Northrop Grumman is upgrading an E-2C to Hawkeye 2000 standard under a $18 million US Navy contract that will bridge the gap between delivery of the last Group II E-2C in mid-2001 and the first of 21 new Hawkeye 2000s in October 2001. Modifying the E-2C will also allow carrier suitability tests to begin earlier. Boeing has received a contract to remanufacture the first two of nine Spanish navy EAV-8Bs to radar-equipped Harrier II Plus standard. The aircraft will be disassembled in Spain, returned to Boeing for installation of a new fuselage, engine, radar and forward-looking infrared, and redelivered in July 2003.
