DaimlerChrysler Aerospace (Dasa) Defense and Civil Systems has won a three-year, €15 million ($14.6 million) contract to provide aerial targets for surface to air missile (SAM) firing at a range near Chania on the island of Crete. A €25 million option covers another five years. Rolls-Royce Turboméca has won a €900 million contract to supply RTM322 turboshaft engines for up to 399 NH Industries NH90 helicopters for France, Germany and the Netherlands. General Electric has won a $300 million deal to supply the rival T700-T6E1 for Italy's 196 NH90s. Derlan has won a C$9.5 million ($6.5 million) research and development contract from Technology Partnerships Canada to develop face gear technologies - which offer significant weight and power output advantages - for next generation helicopters. Raytheon has been given a US Navy contract worth $118 million to build 75 Standard Missile Block IIIB SAMs and 74 kits to upgrade Block II/IIIA missiles to IIIB standard. Ultra Electronics has won a $9.6 million US Navy contract to supply HiPPAG320 on-board compressors which are fitted inside weapons pylons and supply cooling to air-to-air infrared seekers. Dasa Defense and Civil Systems has delivered a prototype Hellas obstacle warning laser radar to Canada's Defence Research Establishment for trials work. A production system will be delivered in July next year. Lockheed Martin has selected BFGoodrich's GH-3000 electronic standby instrument system for a cockpit upgrade of US Customs Service P-3 Orions. Derco has selected the same system for the cockpit upgrade of Botswanan air force Lockheed Martin C-130s. Lockheed Martin has signed a memorandum of understanding with Chile to supply Enaer with a 1.2 x 1.2m autoclave to fabricate composite components. The offer is linked to Lockheed Martin's efforts to sell F-16C/D fighters to Chile.
