The Mexican navy has ordered a Bombardier Dash 8-Q200 turboprop. The aircraft will be delivered in September next year and the navy has taken an option on a second aircraft. Sagem has won an order from the French defence ministry for 3,000 air-to-ground modular armament (AASM) guidance kits. The order is worth €300 million ($340 million). AASM gives conventional munitions a 4-10m (13-33ft) accuracy and extended stand-off range. A Lockheed Martin-led team is to modernise the US Air Force's air, missile and space command and control systems under a 15-year contract worth $1.5 billion. The Integrated Space Command and Control (ISC2) programme is a "virtual command centre" providing an operational picture of the global battlefield available anywhere in the world. Thomson-CSF and Turkey's Aselsan have won a $190 million contract to supply electronic warfare systems to the Turkish air force. Thomson's contract is worth $108 million. Boeing has won a USAF $45 million engineering and manufacturing development contract to provide a variant of its Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) kit for the 226kg (500lb) Mk82 bomb for use with the Northrop Grumman B-2 bomber. Work is to be completed in December 2002. L-3 Communications is to supply FA2100 solid-state flight data recorders to replace tape-based units in US Air Force Lockheed Martin C-130s, under a $2.5 million contract. DRS Technologies has received a multi-year contract to supply deployable flight incident recorders for US Navy Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornets. France and Italy have signed a Fr20 billion ($2.7 billion)deal to develop and manufacture Horizon air defence warships. They will be equipped with the Principal Anti-Air Missile System (PAAMS) and the Matra BAe Dynamics Aster surface-to-air missile. Each navy will take two ships, the French taking delivery in 2006 and 2008, with Italy receiving its ships in 2007 and 2009.
