Boeing is to upgrade six Egyptian air force CH-47C Chinooks to D standard in a $44.8 million deal. Work ends in July 2003. BVR Systems, part of Israel's Elisra group, has won a $20 million contract to supply a full combat simulator to an unnamed air force. Matra BAe Dynamics (MBD) has been awarded a €900 million ($855 million) contract for Mica medium range air-to-air missiles by the French defence ministry to equip French air force Dassault Mirage 2000-5 as well as air force and navy Dassault Rafales from 2004. Alenia Marconi Systems has received a £260 million ($377 million) contract by the UK Ministry of Defence to develop a mid-life upgrade for the UK Royal Navy's Seawolf short-range air defence system. The US Navy has ordered another Gulfstream V (C-37A) in a deal worth $46.2 million. Contract completion is due in July. It has also placed a $52.7 million order for another Boeing C-40A passenger/freighter version of the 737 Next Generation airliner. The USAF has awarded Lockheed Martin Aircraft and Logistics Centres a three-year contract to manage the spares support for its 126 C-5A/B transports. The supply chain management deal includes a seven year option and is worth up to $1.1 billion. King Aerospace has been awarded a $3.8 million contract to provide logistics support for the US Air Force's two Bombardier E-9A (Dash 8) range control aircraft between January and September this year. The contract includes an option to extend the deal to 2010. MBD has received a €231 million order from the French ministry of defence to build an initial batch of Air Sol nucléaire Moyenne Portée Amélioré nuclear missiles. Bahrain has placed a $20 million order for 30 Lockheed Martin Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) missiles for delivery by August 2002. It has also placed a $6.5 million order for 57 Lockheed Martin Extended-Range Multiple Launch Rocket System pods.
