Israel has signed a $211million deal for 24 Sikorsky UH-60LBlack Hawk utility helicopters. Raytheon Systems has been awarded a contract worth up to £8 million ($11.7 million) by the UK Ministry of Defence to provide Successor Identification Friend or Foe equipment for Matra BAe Dynamics Rapier Field Standard C surface-to-air missiles. Thales Avionics has been chosen by EADS/Aerospatiale Matra Missiles to supply the inertial measurement unit for the ASMP-A air-launched nuclear missile. The US Air Force has awarded Rockwell Collins a $29 million contract for the KC-135 tanker retrofit programme. The latest deal, which is the sixth production KC-135 Pacer CRAG production option award, involves 568 shipsets for delivery from Apriland includes integrated flight management, predictive windshear weather radar, traffic alert and collision avoidance, terrain awareness warning and liquid crystal flight display systems. The USAF has awarded Raytheon, Rockwell Collins, Allen Osborne Associates and Alliant Integrated Defense $9 million, $7 million, $2 million and $2 million contracts, respectively, for US Defense Advanced Global Positioning System Receivers (DAGR). The University of Dayton Research Institute has won contracts worth $18 million to develop polymers for use in advanced aerospace applications, advanced radiation hardened electronics, infrared detectors and non-linear optical devices for infrared countermeasures, atmospheric sensing, information processing and laser hardening applications. The Longbow joint-venture company has been awarded a $118 million fixed-price contract to supply the US Army with 44 more Longbow fire control radars, spares and logistics support. The deal increases the value of Longbow deliveries in a multi-year production contract to $442.9 million.
