The Egyptian air force has selected Smiths Aerospace to provide a modular mission support system for 35 Boeing AH-64D Longbow Apaches. Deliveries will start next year and conclude in 2005. Goodrich has won a one-year, $4.4 million contract to support new winches for the US Army's CH-47 fleet. Meanwhile, Boeing has awarded Goodrich a $10 million contract to provide cargo winches for the next 60 C-17s ordered by the US Air Force, and Lockheed Martin has awarded it a $7 million contract to provide cargo winches for 40 C-130Js. EADS has contracted Thales of Norway to develop advanced maintenance data recording techniques for the Eurofighter programme under a €6 million ($7 million) contract.
