* Air New Zealand subsidiary Safe Air will support the communications, navigation and mission system upgrade of the Royal New Zealand Air Force's six Lockheed Martin P-3K Orion maritime patrol aircraft under a NZ$27 million ($19.4 million) subcontract to L-3 Integrated Systems. L-3 will upgrade one P-3K in the USA, with Safe Air to complete the remainder in New Zealand. Deliveries will conclude in 2010.

* Meggitt Safety Systems is to supply the fire detection system for Airbus Military's A400M under a contract potentially worth more than $50 million. Sweden's SaabTech has secured a potentially $31 million contract to provide the transport's high-lift control and monitoring system.

* Rockwell Collins is to provide avionics upgrades for 18 US Air Force Northrop Grumman JSTARS aircraft, including flat-panel cockpit displays, flight management system, datalink, satellite communications, multi-mode receiver and secure GPS. The initial $49.6 million contract covers development and testing.

* Spanish airline Iberia is to maintain the Spanish air force's Airbus A310, Boeing 707 and Dassault Falcon 50/900 VIP transports. Iberia will also modify two air force 707s for rapid conversion between passenger and cargo.

* M7 Aerospace has won a US Army contract, potentially worth $309 million over 10 years, to provide logistic support for its fleet of 43 C-23 Sherpa transports.

* Honeywell has received a US Navy contract for 17 aircraft integrated maintenance systems for CH-46E helicopters, to perform vibration monitoring, rotor track and balance, engine performance check and engine monitoring.

* Pall is to supply 26 engine air particle separators for US Army CH-47 helicopters under a $5.6 million contract.

* General Electric is to provide redesigned high-pressure compressors and turbines, and other components, for 95 engines under service-life extension and ageing-engine upgrade initiatives for F100-100/129s powering US Air Force F-16s under a $57.8 million contract.

* L-3 Link is to built the first US Navy P-3C tactical operational readiness trainer under a $13.3 million contract.
