Boeing has started flight tests of the 747-400BCF (Boeing Converted Freighter) in Hong Kong in conjunction with launch customer Cathay Pacific and supported by Hong Kong-based HAECO and Taikoo (Xiamen) Aircraft Engineering (TAECO), following the aircraft’s conversion by TAECO. It is set for delivery to Cathay on 13 December and is the first of six conversions on firm order, with options on another six. A total of 22 flights is provisionally planned, amounting to 112h of flying time.
