Copa Holdings, the parent company of Copa Airlines, is seeking US Export-Import support for an unidentified number of Boeing aircraft, according to the bank's website.

The airline's CEO Pedro Heilbron recently told ATI, CAO's sister publication, that the company's fleet this year will remain flat as six aircraft are returned and six aircraft are delivered.

He says Copa will not launch any new routes this year and the delivery of six new Boeing and Embraer aircraft are timed to coincide with the return of two 737-700s and four Boeing MD-80s.

Copa Holdings earlier this year unveiled plans to return two 737-700s at Copa and the last four MD-80s at Aero Republica.

Heilbron tells ATI the two 737-700s will be returned to GECAS in October, when their 10-year leases expire.
