Corus Engineering Steels (CES) has announced a further $19 million investment by its parent company to support growth in the aerospace sector.

The move brings to more than $190 million the amount committed by Corus to its Engineering Steels business, which is located mainly in South Yorkshire in the UK.

The latest injection is destined for Stocksbridge, where two new furnaces for the refining of aerospace steels will be installed. The new capability will boost capacity and widen the range of products.

"This is a very significant investment within our overall strategy of adding value and growing in the engineering steels market," says CES managing director Nick Cragg.
