With many diverse types of freight including racing cars, live animals and humanitarian relief supplies, it’s hardly surprising that Ethiad Airways’ Crystal Cargo division has recently been awarded the accolade of Cargo Airline of the Year 2007 by London’s Air Cargo Media.

A modern fleet of passenger and freighter aircraft offers airport-to-airport cargo services on a rapidly growing network of more than 40 destinations in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and North America.

In the Asia-Pacific region, Etihad currently flies to Bangkok, Manila, Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur as well as Etihad Crystal Cargo serving Zheng Zhou in China with one of its Airbus A300-600 freighters. This month a three-times-a-week non-stop service between Abu Dhabi and Singapore will be added to the network.

Etihad Crystal Cargo’s fleet is deployed on scheduled freighter services as well as world-wide charters. Since March 2005, more than 200 charters have been operated and the airline’s Abu Dhabi hub offers an ideal geo-strategic position, connecting East and West. Major expansion plans at Abu Dhabi airport will further increase the cargo capacity and help to cement its position as a fast, efficient and secure transfer hub.
