Bombardier hopes to announce the launch of its CSeries family of small airliners "sometime this year", says Benjamin Boehm, director of the programme management office for new commercial aircraft at the Canadian manufacturer. Montreal daily newspaper La Presse reported last week that the possibility of a spring election in Canada could delay the launch of the programme, but "everything still seems to be progressing", Boehm says. The company expects to announce the location of the CSeries final assembly line when the programme is launched, Boehm adds. The choice is between Montreal and Ontario in Canada and Belfast in Northern Ireland, UK.
