Czech regional airline Air Ostrava is acquiring two secondhand Saab 340s for its expanding network, now linking Ostrava in the east of the country with Amsterdam, Prague, Salzburg, Verona and Vienna. The airline also flies corporate shuttles for VW-Skoda to Braunschweig in Germany. The first 340A, an ex-Deutsche BA aircraft, was delivered on 12 December, with the second due in the first quarter of 1996. Formerly known as Air Vitkovice, the airline also operates British Aerospace ATP and Jetstream aircraft, as well as the Czech-built Let L-410.
