Exhibitors manning the US stands have been given a supporting slap on the back by US Secretary of Commerce William Daley.
Daley was on his first trip to Dubai to meet HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Defence Minister and US business representatives.
Following a tour of the US stands, Daley spoke briefly about the tensions in the region.
"We are hopeful that the diplomatic efforts that have been going on over the last couple of days by President Clinton and leaders from other parts of the world will have a positive impact on this situation.
"Our bottom line is compliance with UN resolutions and so we are hopeful that these discussions and meetings that are taking place will bear fruit."
Turning his attentions to Dubai '97, he adds: "Middle East countries are an important market for the US aerospace industry and I am here to demonstrate strong and aggressive US Government commitment and support.
"The US is committed to a commercial relationship that is every bit as strong as the security and political relationship that exists between our two countries."
"The US aerospace industry is our nation's leading exporter. It accounts for 850,000 US jobs and plays a key role in our entire US economy."
