Dallas/Fort Worth International airport opened a new 10-gate expansion to terminal B today.
The 929m2 (10,000ft2) expansion will be used by American Eagle, which includes all of American Airlines’ regional operations. The new concourse includes gates B30-B39 and increases the number of contact gates at the airport to 164.

“These new gates give DFW airport additional capacity for hosting flights in terminal B, and a beautiful new space for customers to enjoy as they await their flights," says Sean Donohue, chief executive of Dallas/Fort Worth airport, in a statement.

The expansion is part of Dallas/Fort Worth airport’s $2.3 billion terminal renewal and improvement programme, which includes renovations to the facility’s four original terminals – A, B, C and E.
Dallas/Fort Worth handled 60.4 million passengers with 11.2% carried by American Eagle in 2013, airport data shows.
