Flight International online news 11:30GMT: Dassault Aviation has “no interest” in acquiring Spanish aerostructures specialist Gamesa, says chairman and chief executive Charles Edelstenne.

Speaking after today's half-year results announcement in Paris, Edelstenne also said Singapore's decision to reject its Rafale fighter in favour of Boeing's F-15 was a “big disappointment” and, hinting at heavy US government influence in the decision, said “the political aspect was not neutral”.

He also said he has set up a team to “examine the economics” of developing a new model of Falcon business jet to fill a gap at the bottom of the range. “The problem is not building an airframe: we know how to make a cheaper airframe after our 7X experience. We want to make it an attractive price,” he said.
