Dassault is stepping up its customer support effort in strategic regions across the globe to shore up the growing fleet of Falcon business jets worldwide.

The company has relocated a technical service representative from its Saint Cloud base near Paris, France to Mumbai, India where the country's insatiable appetite for business aircraft has led to a boom in Falcon sales. "The Indian market for business jets has been rapidly expanding, especially in the past three years due to a very strong economy across all sectors," says John Rosanvallon, president of Dassault Falcon.

Last month, Dassault opened a spares distribution centre in Mumbai housing an inventory valued at nearly $1.5 million. Dassault has also opened two authorised service centres in South Africa with the appointment of maintenance specialists Bhakari Aviation and Execujet South Africa and has expanded its service provision in Turkey through Istanbul-based Palmali.

Meanwhile, Piaggio has appointed Jet Aviation's Düsseldorf, Germany facility as an authorised service centre for the P180 Avanti/Avanti II twin turboprop. The move is designed to support the Italian airframer's growing European Avanti inventory.
