Debis AirFinance, the global aircraft leasing and financing arm of DaimlerChrysler, is to acquire similarly sized Irish-based lessor, AerFi from Texas Pacific for $750 million cash. The combined company will have a total aircraft portfolio of 202, valued at $5 billion, plus a 50% holding in GPA-ATR. The deal is subject to regulatory approval. It is the second recent acquisition for debis - the company bought Raytheon's $800 million portfolio of general and corporate aircraft finance packages.
