New codeshare services between Gulf Air and Oman Air could lead to a broader tie-up between the carriers, both of which are partly owned by the sultanate of Oman. Fareed Saeed Al-Alawi, vice-president network for Gulf Air, says a full network integration is needed because the carriers now have hubs at Muscat. Oman Air is grappling with another strategic decision on whether to re-enter the long-haul market. Meanwhile, it has launched a service to Amman in Jordan.
