• Thales and Sabena Technics are to upgrade the avionics in the French air force's 14 Lockheed Martin C-130Hs under a €40 million ($60 million) contract to enable operation in civil airspace beyond 2010. The team will modify a prototype and supply kits for the remaining aircraft. Thales and SABCA are to upgrade the avionics in 20 French air force Dassault-Dornier Alpha Jets for the French-Belgian flight-training school at Cazaux under a €20 million contract. The upgrade includes head-up display and GPS/inertial navigation.
  • BAE Systems Regional Aircraft has sold an ex-airline Avro RJ100 regional jet to the Bahrain Defence Force where, after conversion to VVIP configuration, it will join two RJ85s.
  • Boeing is to supply an AH-64D Apache Longbow crew trainer to Egypt under a $20 million contract. The full mission simulator will be delivered in July 2009.
