Typhoon meeting
The first Eurofighter Typhoon Quadrinational Operator Forum has taken place at the Italian Air Force's 4th Wing base in Grosseto, Tuscany to compare the operational experiences of the four European air forces operating the new fighter. The meeting was attended by air base commanders from Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK, who are responsible for initial operations of the first Typhoon-equipped operational units in their respective countries.
Finnish selection
Finland's Patria Group has selected CMC Electronics to develop a glass-cockpit upgrade for the Finnish air force's 49 BAE Systems Hawk Mk51/51A twin-seat jet trainers. Based on CMC's Cockpit 4000 system, the modification will include a mission computer, head-up display (HUD) and up-front control panel, with a HUD repeater in the aft cockpit and a single 5 x 7in (125 x 180mm) multifunction display in each cockpit of the trainers.
