Automatic Sky-X
The Alenia Aeronautica Sky-X unmanned air vehicle technology demonstrator has performed its first wholly automatic flights from take-off to landing from the Vidsel air base in Sweden. The stealthy UAV had logged 14 flights since May 2005, when it took off automatically for the first time this month, completing a 30min autonomous flight.
Composite parts
Tusas Aerospace Industries has delivered its first composite ailerons and spoilers for the A400M transport to Airbus Military. The components will soon be shipped to Airbus UK's wing assembly facility for the A400M at its Filton site in Bristol.
