Indian milds
EADS and the Indian Defence Avionics Research Establishment have signed a contract for the joint development of a missile warning system for the Indian air force. The system will be based on the European manufacturer's AAR-60 MILDS ultraviolet sensor and will be integrated into the existing multi-sensor warning system used by the Indian armed forces. The system is expected to be operational by next year.
Stork deal
Goodrich has signed an agreement with Stork Aerospace for the Dutch components manufacturer to develop polymer matrix composites (PMC) technology for landing-gear systems. Goodrich will apply future PMC composite technology developed by Stork to landing gear for commercial and military aircraft. Goodrich says it will seek to incorporate PMC structural elements into current and future programmes as "quickly as practical".
