Asian Aerospace (Chalet D226) will launch two new associated events to focus on training and simulation (T&S), and defence, as part of the next staging of the Asia Pacific region's premier aerospace exhibition and airshow.

The launch of a new unmanned technology pavilion and conference at the last Asian Aerospace in Singapore, which boasted the first UAV flying demonstration at a major airshow, has also led to expansion of the unmanned vehicle focus for 2006, to cover air, land and naval technologies.

Experiencing

The Asia Pacific region is experiencing a significant surge in demand for training and simulation capabilities, fuelled by changes in the security environment and the growth of new airline start-ups demanding around 6,000 new pilots annually for the next 20 years.

The Asia Training and Simulation Hub 2006 will focus on cutting-edge training and simulation products and services for the commercial aviation and defence sectors.

Supported by ITEC 2006, the acclaimed conference and exhibition dedicated to defence training, education, and simulation, National Training Systems Association (NTSA) and International Training and Simulation Alliance (ITSA), the new technology focus will present training systems and flight simulators for flightcrew, synthetic environment systems, virtual tactical trainers and wargaming systems, as well as a dedicated conference addressing topical training issues in commercial aviation.

Asian Defence Technology (ADT) 2006, will highlight new technologies in soldier systems, unmanned technologies, urban warfare, mounted operations and homeland security.

A new land warfare conference will also be held alongside ADT, providing a platform for the industry to engage in discussions on the latest trends and developments in the defence industry.

Ed Ng, president of Asian Aerospace 2006, the show organiser for Asian Aerospace and Asian Defence Technology, says: "With the expansion of Asia Training and Simulation Hub, and the Unmanned Technologies Pavilion, Asian Aerospace together with Asian Defence Technology has once again demonstrated its position as the principal event to network and do business with a wider spectrum of decision makers for the aerospace and defence industry.

Delegation

"These show highlights will be leveraging on Asian Aerospace's highly successful official delegation programme, which attracted 148 official delegations from 47 countries at the 2004 event."

Asian Aerospace will take place at Singapore's Changi Exhibition Centre from 21-26 February 2006.
