Delhi airport, which is managed by a consortium led by Indian airport developer GMR Infrastructure, has a new CEO.

The airport says in a statement B.S. Shantharaju has been appointed CEO and he was previously managing director of Gujarat Gas and is a former chief financial officer of Glaxo SmithKline in India. Gurjarat is a gas distributor.

A spokesman for Delhi airport says there was previously no CEO and the airport instead had a managing director, Srinivas Bommidala, who will be staying in that position and is also a director of GMR.

Shantharaju will be reporting to Bommidala, adds the spokesman.

GMR is the Indian airport developer that heads the consortium that now manages the airport, which is known as Indira Gandhi International Airport.
