Delta Air Lines plans to inaugurate new daily flights from Salt Lake City to Arcata-Eureka Airport in Humboldt, California on June 5.

Carrier partner SkyWest Airlines is flying on behalf of Delta using Bombardier 50-seat CRJ200s.

No other airline serves those two destinations directly, but Horizon Airlines and United Express offer flights from the Arcata-Eureka Airport, with Delta becoming the third airline to offer scheduled service.

Delta’s new route operated by SkyWest coincides with the regional airline’s parent company SkyWest Inc. filing a lawsuit against its Atlanta-hubbed partner, claiming Delta is withholding about $25 million it owes to SkyWest and its affiliate Atlantic Southeast Airlines (ASA).

The legal action is a result of a disagreement SkyWest and Delta have over contract language in their feeder deals concerning liability for expenses associated with irregular operations.
